Easter, an all nighter, and one domestic goddess

What a week we've had. I'm behind posting Easter pictures because our card reader on my lap top isn't working. I have to wait until Aaron is home to post them on his work computer and them onto mine. A hastle if you ask me. Anyhow, we had a great Easter week-end. Aaron had to work on Saturday so Doug and Adrianna from the ward invited the girls and I over to decorate eggs. Before we started Doug asked if we were going to do naked eggs. Luckily he was just referring to the kids.

Brooklyn, Sterling, and Anna

Sunday Morning was also a hectic one but I managed to get a couple of ok pictures of the girls in their dresses. I wish my camera was better but there are many things on my wish list these days. They were beautiful and now Anna wants to wear her dress everyday to play in.

I love this picture of Brook. She loves Sunglasses and insists on wearing them up side down.

Lately Aaron's work is really picking up. We are anxiously awaiting April 15th. Last night I called him about 8 pm and he said he would be late. So I'm thinking 11. I went to bed and asked him to wake me up when he got home. Long story short, I wake up at 4:15 am alone in bed. I suddenly panic having the worse case scenario run through my head. I quickly call him, and he answers very energetically, "Hello." I replied quite annoyed. "Do you know what time it is." "Ya, its just after 4." He goes onto explain that it was already so late he thought it would be better just to stay at work than come home for just a couple hours of sleep. He worked a full day today as well and hasn't slept sense Wednesday night. I don't think I could stay up that long if I wanted too. He is amazing, and I am so proud of how hard he works for us. I love you honey!

Last but not least I had to post a picture of my load of bread for the week. I have been making our bread for several months now and finally feel like I have the whole thing down pat. I just had to toot my horn!

Our Garden

Well not really a garden, but I wanted to share our little plant we have been growing together over the past couple of months. I love avocados, so one time after dinner I thought, "Hey, I think the girls would enjoy seeing this seed grow and seeing what happens with it over time." Sure enough it has been fun to watch they get so excited as the pit began to split and eventually grow roots and a stem. It ends up growing to be a tree so I'm not sure how not we'll keep it up but it has been fun. I highly recommend doing it will your kids. Its very easy.

1. Soak an avocado pit over night in water
2. Next day, place three tooth picks about 1/3 of the way up from the fat end.
3. Place the avocado in a small cup where the bottom 1/3 is resting in the water, supported by the tooth picks.
4. Watch, wait and enjoy
5. Water periodically as needed. DON'T change out the water completely, just top off the glass as needed so the bottom stays submerged. If the water get murky and nasty you have to start over :( Mine worked great the first time. Have fun and I'd love to see your plants in a couple of months.

The simple things

This past week-end I was playing with the girls when I noticed it was pouring rain, but the sun was shining so bright. I looked outside and saw a bright, full rainbow spanning across the sky outside our apartment. Then I realized that it was a double full rainbow. It is hard to see in the picture because it is so much darker above the first rainbow. I took the girls outside to see it, and Anna was so excited to be able to name all the colors. Ever sense then Brooklyn keeps asking where the rainbow went.

I love Brooklyn singing. Twinkle Twinkle is her favorite and she sings it over and over like a broken record. PS: Caution: She may make you dizzy PSS: I LOVE her bouncy curls. Where did my girls get it?

Costco... our love hate relationship

Well for me it is mainly a love relationship but for Aaron I'm not so sure. Whenever we go to costco Aaron always threatens that we are not going to renew our costco membership when it expires. To which I say, "Of coarse we are going to renew." Aaron's beef is that we can sometimes only get 4 things and we are already at $50. Sometimes that is true but you get such a great price on things. You also get so much that it lasts a long time; how can you go wrong. I swear that if we weren't so poor I could drop $500 dollars each time we go. This week our delema was an eliptical machine. I have wanted one for a long time. I really like... I mean need to work out. We have a little gym here at our complex but it just isn't practical. Aaron works a lot and I don't really like to work out at night and whenever I go, there is always someone on the machine I want. It would just be so much more practical to have something at home. So back to Costco, when we were there last we saw they had one in stock for a great price. Yeah! All we needed to do was wait for our tax return and voula, it would be ours. The problem is with costco is that if you don't buy something when you see it, it will be gone. I'm not sure if this sense of urgency is created on purpose by costco to force more impulse buys, but it worked!!! We bought it and love it. Three days later I was back for a few things and saw they were completly gone. Phew!!

A big thanks to our friend Ben. We asked him to come over to help us lift it out of the back of Aarons truck ( it weighed like 500 LBS) and he stayed for 2 1/2 hours to help us put it together. Thanks Ben!

Zoo Day

On Monday we had a nice day.... not raining and in the 40's, so we decided to go to the Zoo with our friend Michelle and her little boy Eli. It was still a little chilly but it was so nice to get out of the house for a change. We bought a pass so when the weathe is better on a more continual basis we can go whenever we want. Brooklyn still gets a little scared of the the larger animals. I don't think she quite gets that the glass is there. Anna loves everything though. It is fun to see them get so excited! Here are some of my favorite pics.

Build a bear

Anna with her class.

This week we went to Build a bear with the girls for Anna's pre-school field trip. We have never been so I was excited for the girls. Brooklyn ended up getting very attached to a small cat so she didn't end up "stuffing" a bear, but Anna chose a cute bear and I think enjoyed the process. She gets very shy so we mainly watched.

When we got home Anna liked the box more than the bear. Go figure!

Bath time!

Here are a few pictures of the girls in the bath last night. They love to play together and splash in the water. Brooklyn is going through a phase where she likes to suck on her toes. Pretty gross if you ask me.

Watch out for that first step......

Yesterday we had a primary activity for our ward. I needed to go because I teach and it was Anna's first activity for Sunbeams. We have been having very awful weather as well so it was very cold and rainy when we were leaving. Anna didn't want to hold my hand to the car so I told her to hurry to the car so we wouldn't get rained on. I went out before her when I slipped and "WHAM!!!!!" I hit the ground so hard. There was freezing rain and I went down hard. I felt the worst pain I have felt in a long time. I had dis-located my shoulder and I suddenly started to panic. In my mind I saw my self in the emergency room with some nurse trying to get my shoulder back in its socket. Anyhow, luckily I was able to get it to pop back in place and I crawled back to our door in tears. Neadless to say, I am really really sore today and hoping that it gets feeling better. I joke that I lived in Rexburg for 5 years and never fell once, and now I slip on some "rain" and bust my shoulder. It could have been so much worse. I was just glad I wasn't holding Brooklyn or something.

Anna today watched me straighten my hair and asked if I would do that to hers. I didn't think that she would sit still but she did a great job and I thought she looked so cute. She looked like a different little girl to me. She kept saying, "Mommy my hair so so long and soft." By the time church was over the curl was creeping back in but it was just fun to see what she would look like.

I also had to post a picture of my new mirror. I love it and am so glad that Aaron let me splurg. It makes our room look so much bigger as well. If you look close you can see Anna in the kitchen on a chair.

Pick the Gender of your baby?

Today I ran across this Chinese Lunar Calendar that claims it is 99% accurate for determining a baby's gender. It is based on the mother age at the time of conception and the month of conception. It was acurate with my girls and I was wondering if it was true for you guys. Check it out at Chinese Lunar Calendar

Watch us Grow!

Below are pictures that I took of the girls while the temple was being built. Whenever we were in Rexburg we would make a trip to track the growth of the girls... and the beautiful temple.
