New Friends

New Friend

We've had a busy week. On Monday we went to the park with some new friends the Churches'. They have a little boy Anna's age, Sterling. We went on a walk and they wanted to hold hands. Anna kept telling him how to hold hands, preceding to show him how the fingers should intertwine. They also came over today to swim and Anna and Sterling followed each other around the pool, holding hands again, and having a ball. I am glad that we have found a new little friend. They also have a little girl a little younger than Brooklyn so we should have a lot of fun in the future. Anna is also going to be starting pre-school in a couple of weeks, along with Sterling, and 4 other kids her age. I am going to be helping teach with the other moms. It should be really fun and I am excited for Anna to be able to go and meet other kids and go on fun field trips. She is so excited and always asks, "mom, you'll come back and get me right?" I've been trying to explain to her that I won't be there all the time. She seems ok with it. Some days we could use a break from each other. :) She is growing so fast and I look forward to all she'll learn.

Anna's 3!

Yesterday was Anna's 3rd birthday. Aaron had to work a half day and when he got home we went to get Anna's birthday present. We decided to get her a fish tank for the bathroom. She has been wanting one for a while so we let her pick out the color of rocks and plants and things. We actually just got two frogs yesterday because the lady said we needed to wait a few days because of something in the rocks that can hurt the fish. Anyhow, the girls just love the tank and just want to sit on the bathroom counter and look at the frogs. They don't move much so Anna keeps asking, "Mommy, make them move or something." The fish should be a little more exciting to watch when we get them. I have pictures of everything but my laptop in being fixed and I can't load pictures onto Aaron's work computer, so when we get my laptop back I'll post the b-day pics. Happy Birthday Anna!

Cannon Beach trip

Yesterday Aaron didn't have to work so we took a trip to the coast. It was about 60 miles and a beautiful drive. The weather was less than ideal but we still had a good time getting out. The girls liked the sand and the water crashing. It was very windy and cold so we told Anna next time we would wear our suits and bring a bucket so we could play in the sand. Lets just say we'll check the weather next time.

Who needs toys when....

Our little Brooklyn is one busy little kid. Most 18 month olds probably are. I feel like most of what I do all day is follow the girls around and try to keep up with their messes. Anna is also now becoming very independent with her potty training, which I love, so most of the time she'll just go to the bathroom whenever she needs. Consequently, leaving the door open. Brooklyn has now discovered that the toilet paper makes a great toy. At least once a day I find the toilet paper roll unwound all over the bathroom. Why do we buy toys when we could give them toilet paper? I'm sure other mothers can relate!

Passing the time

It is so nice to be back in Portland with Aaron. Well I guess it would be nice if we ever saw him. I know that it isn't his fault but he works a ton. This whole week he left the house by 7 am and wasn't home before 8:30pm. It makes for long days and I can deal with it, but the poor girls are so confused. I've kept Anna up so she can spend sometime with him but Brooklyn went about 3 days before she saw him. I am so grateful though that he works so hard and try not to make him feel too bad for all he is missing. :) I was also informed that in the world of Accounting there are 2 busy seasons not just 1! Go figure. Lets just say were looking forward to after September 15th. The girls and I are trying to pass the time doing everything from trips to target, watching movies, playing play-doh, (see above), playing in the water, cooking, cleaning, (we do a lot of that with 2 under 3 yrs old), read books ect. Anna asks me about every hour. "Is dad coming home right now?" I wonder how it would be to walk in the door at night and have the whole house erupt into cheers and screams of excitement. We love daddy!

Wood Family Reunion

Wood Family Reunion

This past week-end was our Wood famiy reunion. It was great to be with family that we don't get to see very often. I was very disappointed that Aaron couldn't make it but we were going to make the best of it. We had the reunion right on Lake Yellowstone in Yellowstone state park. It was sure beautiful. Michelle got engaged the week-end before and get fiance was going to drive up the last full day we were going to be there. To my COMPLETE SURPRISE I look up and Aaron is standing right there in front of me. I don't know what came over me but I burst into tears. I thought it was a dream. He had flown into Boise and drove the rest of the way to surprise us. I tease that he doesn't surprise me very often so I wasn't expecting it at all. It made everything just perfect to have him there. Enjoy the Pictures above!

My new Job!

I am so very excited too tell everyone that I know about my new part time job as an independent Heritage Maker consultant. We are a company that specialize in helping people preserve their memories through digital scrapbooking. They are the most amazing books and they are so easy to make. The big things that sold me was the fact that they are all done via the Internet which makes it so convenient because I don't have to get out 1,000 different little doo-dads and worry about my kids getting into it, and the books are bound like a professional book and are heirloom quality! On the website there are literally thousands of different designs of pages, fonts, and embellishments. I could go on and on but please go to the website and check it out! Let me know what you think and if anyone is interested in making a book or even being a consultant like me to earn free products and a little extra money, let me know!

Near Death Experience

Well tonight for Aaron's work, KPMG sponsored a night at the local triple A baseball team, the Portland Beavers. We were excited to have a free dinner and night at the ball park with the girls. We were enjoying our peanuts, hot dogs, and chips when suddenly Aaron yells "Jamie, heads up, heads up!" Anna was playing under the table and Brooklyn was on my lap. I could see Aaron out of the corner of my eye crouching away and I knew what was happening. A foul ball was hit high in the air and was coming right toward our table. (We were sitting down on the field level in an area that was reserved just for our group) Anyhow, there was no way in my mind that I was going to look up to see what was coming and risk getting a broken nose, so I covered brooklyn with my body and braced myself. Suddenly there was a huge crash! Plates flying, chips everywhere but we were ok. The ball had hit our table square in the middle literally 4 inches from where I was. I have never been so shaken. Aaron my knight and shinning armour, had backed away to protect himself (Just teasing honey) and Anna was crying because of the noise. Then to make matters worse, in the midst of all the aftermath, a lady from another table came and stole the ball from the scene of the crime!!! Now we don't even have a souvenir of the ordeal! Anyhow, we are all glad to be alive!
