5 years old. Isn't he so cute. It makes me want a boy even more. I hope he would look just like his daddy!

I had to include this picture. I'm not sure how old he is but it cracks me up!

Aaron we love you so much. You are such a wonderful dad and husband. Here are a few thing that I adore and love about A.

He is a great dad. He plays, bathes, cleans bums, rocks, tickles, disciplines (Sometimes :) ) makes treats and loves. I feel so strong that girlies need their daddies and mine lucked out!
He is a wonderful provider. When I first met Aaron he was working for a landscape company and would work long long day. He was always filthy when I saw him after a hard days work. He has done everything from landscaping; installing sprinklers, mowing lawns, installing ponds, to delivering furniture for a local company on Rexburg. He has such a great work ethic that I have never doubted for one second that we would always be taken care of.
He is a loyal and good friend

Loves the gospel

makes me laugh

He has picked up the slack so much since I have been sick with this baby. Coming home and jumping right in to all the things that need to be done. I am lucky to have such a wonderful man and look forward to see what the next 30 years hold for our family!

Dads vs. Moms

Maybe I have noticed this because lately I have been "out of commission" not feeling well, but in the last little while I have realized that Aaron and I do things very differently in regards to our kids in some areas.
Example #1: Over Christmas at his parents, Aaron suggests at 8:30pm that we put in a movie for the girls. What?!? Ever heard of Bedtime.
Example #2: Last night Aaron begins to Spring clean the girls room, including organizing toys, vacuuming etc. at 7:30. Ya bedtime begins at 7pm. Needless to say the girls were not asleep until late.
Example #3: Currently happening in my kitchen. Aaron proceeds to start making cookies with the girls at 7:30 so he can make pizookies for the girls before bed.
Maybe bedtime is my anal, Nazi thing because I am a drill Sargent when it comes to punctuality on bedtime. When I am the boss story time, scripture reading, song singing, teeth brushing, pj getting on-ing (Is that a word) is very strictly enforced.
I really can't complain because I am feeling pretty crappy today/and pretty much the last 8 weeks and really am NO help at all. I just realized that he is a great dad, and just happens to do bedtime very differently than me. I must let go my control.
Hard to do... for me :)
Anyone else for sugaring their kids up an hour before bed?
Love you Babe!

Christmas 2009

This year, like most, we went to Idaho for Christmas. We debated back and forth whether or not we were going to go because I haven't been feeling well, but in the end we decided it would be worth it to be able to see family since we wouldn't be going out next summer when the baby comes.
The drive out was actually really good. We left at 2 in the afternoon and pulled into Sugar City at around 2 am. The girls fell asleep around 9pm and then I was able to sleep most of the night until we arrived. It made the drive go by much faster. The roads were also clear which makes things run much smoother.
The trip was great! The Anna and Brooklyn had so much fun in the snow, and playing with their cousins. The verdict is still out for me on the snow. I just hate being cold and it was pretty miserable. Mom said that it had been about 5 or 10 below, so all the "locals" were saying how nice it was. Whatever..... if 15 is pleasant then I am reconsidering ever going back! :) Luckily for me I didn't have to be in the cold much except for getting in the car and running errands.

The girls with their Nana getting ready to go in the backyard to play in the snow.

Anna, Brook, and cousin Josh

Isaiah and Anna with their snow "blob." The snow was really crunchy so they did their best with snowman assembly and this was the best they could do. I think it is adorable!

I had to include a picture of mOm's "men." She has such adorable decorations. Someday is my motto.

I think the best gift of the trip were these magnetic building blocks. I read reviews before I got them and people said that their kids and the adults would play for hours with them. I thought, well we'll see. Turns out, they did not disappoint. Everyone, including the adults had so much fun building with them... for hours sometimes!

One of the deciding factors in us going to Idaho for Christmas was that Brandon and his family were coming up from California. We don't get to see them very often so it was fun to spend some time with the rambunctious boys and adorable Bella.

Brandon and Amanda

Papa and Anna

Hanging out Christmas day. We opened presents at the Tonks' and my camera was at the other house so we don't have any pictures of opening presents. Classic!

I think that Aaron was able to get in a nap everyday. Lucky guy. He teased me the entire trip though because most nights I was in bed by 8:30. What can I say, this baby is making me tired.

Boo and Bella

One of the highlights for Anna for the trip was the secret project that her and papa were working on. They would disappear into the shop and I was not allowed in under any circumstances. She loved that they had this little secret.
Lately Anna's favorite show happens to be the Ask this old house and This old house series on PBS. It is kind of funny because it is only on maybe once or twice a week but when I see that it is on she will drop whatever she is doing and come and sit right by me. She'll ask, "Mom is the old house show on." We'll watch anything from how to replace the duct work, to how to make garden planters or pick out sink fixtures. She loves it and it makes me smile every time. Maybe she'll grow up and be an interior designer or architech.
I was tickled when I found out they were making our family a beautiful bird house. Alain did such a wonderful job I know it will last forever. He put some heart rocks on the face that will always remind me of my mom. (She collects heart shaped rocks) Now every time I look at it I will think of them. The girls can't wait until Spring to see if some birds make it their home.

Safety first!

Anna and Brooklyn found Grandma Tonks' clip drawer. If one is good, 12 is better right?

Finally the day before we left we had a good snow storm. Aaron pulled Anna and Ryan behind the 4-Wheeler and they were in Heaven. Being a nervous mom I told him that he was pulling them way to fast but what am I going to do. Their little faces were so cold and wind burned when they came in and they were ready for some hot chocolate and to snuggle in for a movie on Grandma and Grandpa's bed.
After a ten day trip we headed home on New Years Eve day. Aaron insisted that we be home before the 1st because of the big Ohio State Vs. Oregon game on New Years Day (Ohio State ended up winning so A was a happy guy. Go Bucks!)

This is the mess that we battled pretty much the whole way home. Luckily Aaron knows how to drive in snow but it still made me so nervous every time he would pass a semi truck and visibility was almost nothing. It also made for slow going. It took much longer to get home and we were all very excited to get home. We were packed in our little car like sardines and it felt so great to fall into bed and stretch out when we got home late that night.

Brook's face pretty much says it all on the mood in the car

Anna was a little more cheerful

Love

It's hard to love something that is making you so darn sick, but the Tonks' are happy to announce baby #3!
(Had an ultrasound this morning but couldn't scan the photo)

I've told several friends that our Father in Heaven "convienently" has us forget all the yuckies of pregnancy or we would never do it over and over again. The only way I can describe it to Aaron is that I feel like I have the flu...all the time.... without the barfs. He has been wonderful taking on many of my responsibilities after he has worked a long day at the office. Everything from dishes, to grocery shopping, ironing his work shirts, laundry etc.

You're the best!
I also can't forget my friends who have been amazing. You know who you are! Taking my kids so I can rest, meals, one angel who showed up at my house at 8am and stayed for 2 1/2 hours cleaning our whole place! I am blessed. Needless to stay I can wait to get back to feeling like my old self. Then my kitchen won't look like this.

Look for our little blessing July 2010!

Blast from Thanksgivings past

I found this Video last night while looking back at our past blog posts. I couldn't belive how little the girls looked and how adorable Anna was singing her "turkey song." They just grow too fast.

What you can

I like to think of myself as someone who has a tender heart. I have always been someone who wants to help, always felt so fortunate for what I have been blessed with. Where we live there are many homeless who stand on corners with signs, and look like they need so much help. Each time I drive by I always look for something I can give even if it is small. Sometimes I'll have an extra fruit leather or a sandwich that I'll hand though the window and I drive by. It never seems like enough.

When I was in Jr. high I traveled with family to an orphanage in Mexico for a couple of Christmas' to pass out gifts to the children who lived there. It was such a stark contrast when we would travel over the boarder to their little town. The streets, car, homes, businesses. We were told not to drink the water and had to be careful what we ate. What a profound experience that we had and I am grateful that I was able to experience those grateful children and to realize how much I really had.

We also went on Christmas Eve with some ward family members to a building in downtown LA, that housed the homeless. We packed food, small gifts, and smiles and passed them out door to door. I'll never forget some of their faces. So grateful that someone had remembered them.

The point I am getting at is that I think so many of us want to help and make a difference. I love to see groups that show up after disasters and help people rebuild their home. I love to see doctors and nurses who volunteer their time to help treat those who are so in need, in our country and abroad. I love shows like Extreme home makeover that can make such a difference in people's lives.

I came across two blogs that I love to read that talked about THIS charity. It is called.

Water For Christmas

With thanksgiving approaching my mind as turned to all I have. This charity helps drill for clean water in Africa. I know that there are so so many charities and things that ask for donations this time of year, but they are asking for just $10. Not Toys or clothes or food.

Just $10 will provide 1 person clean water for 10 years.

Also what I love is that they are training and educating the people so that they can be self sustaining but they need help to get started.

Please watch the video on the above link. I made my donation and I hope if you can, you will too.

I am so blessed. I think my kids can do without a stocking stuffer to help bless the lives of our brother and sisters in Africa.

The festivitites

We had a busy Halloween. It started with Brooklyn's preschool field trip to Krispy Kreme donuts. She was so excited to finally be able to wear her costume (I have been working on them for weeks with a friend and said that the girls couldn't wear them until the big day)

(Watching the donuts be made.... exciting stuff)

Getting ready to catch the bus

Our Cinderella
I was also able to go into Anna's classroom to help with her Halloween party on Friday.

I had to include this picture of Brooklyn. Look at that gorgeous hair color!!! I can't take it.

Next we headed downtown to Aaron's office for the annual KPMG office trick or treating. The girls absolutely love it! Aaron's office building is the tallest downtown and he works on the 37th floor. The girls love to look out the windows so high up! Scares me to death frankly :)

Hanging out in Aaron's second home.... I mean cubicle
On Friday night our friends Ciara and Rachel planned an awesome murder mystery dinner. We all dressed up as a character and throughout the night played that character and tried to find out who the killer was. After some of the antics it is a miracle that we are still friends!

Melanie, Julie, Joy

Adrianna working her stuff

Aaron and I as "the boogy man" and "Frankenstein"
(I had green paint in my pores for days.... yuck)

(Herb, Ciara, Lisa, Ben, Pete, Adrianna, and Michelle)
On Halloween day we went over to the church for our ward's trunk-or-treat. It started out with a costume parade indoors.
Here is Anna with one of her best buddies Sage

Mom with her princesses

hanging out eating some loot with our pal Eli
Last but not least I had to get a picture with my friend Wendy. She is the one who basically made the girls dresses. She was so patient teaching me as we went. I think they turned out great and I have only her to thank! We barley finished them giving her little time to make her amazing costume.
Thanks again my patient, and talented friend.
I hope everyones Halloween was great. I am glad it is over and look forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas!
