Declaration

After a couple promising days of potty training Brooklyn, she has made it clear to me today that she is done, saying I quote "Mommy, I don't want to be a big girl." Grrrrrr! I would pay someone to come in and do this for me!

Don't force her, she'll end up peeing on you because she hates it so much! haha Maybe Uncle Judson can teach her some tricks that will change her mind when we are up there!

Just stick with it. Remeber how rewarding it is to finally be free of diapers! Lots of luck!

Sorry, that sucks! Have you tried buying little dollar store toys and you put them in a basket in the bathroom and even when Anna goes give her one. She will see how fun the toys are and maybe she would want one too. Just a thought, good luck!

We've tried everything! Candy, treats, surprises. I think it is a control issue. Thanks for the support :)

I'm right there with 'ya! Hyrum still has NO desire whatsoever to use the bathroom. We're taking a break until Christmas, when Dad will be home more to help keep the peace. We'll see if anything happens then.

We have a cute potty that sings and flushes (well, pretends to flush), just let me know if you want to use it. It sounds like you're right though, if it's a control issue nothing will motivate her.

I've been trying lots of different treats with Hailey and she just seemed very unmotivated. Then I got the idea to put the treats in the bathroom next to the toilet. She loves M&M's, so I poured some in a sealed tuperware container and put them on a shelf in the bathroom where she could see them and receive them immediately after she went on the toilet, and that has worked so far. She's pooped a few times and just went potty today for the first time. Maybe putting the rewards near the toilet will help her associate the two together. Just an idea. Good Luck.

Someone tried to pay me to potty train their child. No way! Sad thing, you have to start from Square 1 each time with each child. There's no shortcuts. Good luck with that. Maybe grandma could help if she were around for Thanksgiving???
