And no he was not talking about our kids. Aaron went on a hunting trip this last weekend with some friends and had quite the experience. In his own words he said,
"It was the best trip and the worst trip all at the same time."
Worst part: On the first day of the trip Aaron looses his gun along with the brand new scope he just had mounted. Don't ask how. I am still trying to figure out how you loose a gun of that size right off your back. Aaron's not sure either. (PS: We did find out because he is a member of the NRA, he has insurance on his guns, and they will be replacing all that was lost. Phew! )
Best Part: On the last day while still looking for his gun, Aaron see a giant buck makes the kill Apparently it is a black tale buck with a 4 X 5 rack. The biggest he's ever shot.
(For all of my non-hunting gal friends out there the 4 X 5 referees to the number of points a deer has on its antlers. I had to learn all of these things post marriage :)
Let's just say you won't be seeing it over my sofa anytime soon.
Way to go A!

Look at his smile! He's like a kid in a candy store! Way to go Red!
I think our husbands might be soul mates. Congrats on "catching a deer" --- a phrase that my husband always corrects me on.
"You don't Catch a deer. You SHOOT or kill a deer."
"Congrats on getting a deer." - that's the compromise.
Ew, that's disgusting. He's actually holding a dead dear! What do you do with the deer it once you've killed it (besides mounting it of course)? Very cool for him though, especially being his biggest...he looks mighty proud!
We do keep all the meat and usually make it into jerky. That is why I don't feel so bad about him killing it because we do eat the meat. Still gross though!
It's nice to put a pic with the event... And judging by his face, you wouldn't know what happended day earlier with his gun!
That's a beautiful buck. Nice job Aaron.
that message was actually from Brad, but I'm sure Meg would agree (although she'd be a bit more grossed out).
Of course you won't mount it above the couch..it should go right above your bed so it can watch you sleep. haha I heard the whole story from Marc, I think he was nearly excited as Aaron. Guess you'll have a freezer full of jerky now. Way to go Aaron!!
i showed this to my hubby...he was so jealous and wants to become bff with your hubby! that is sooo awesome...and how do you lose a huge gun?!
Look at his grin... he is in heaven! Haha, way to go A. Jamie you should be so proud :o)
